My Story
In 2015, my dad purchased a J-3 Cub, and that airplane is what ignited my love for aviation. Growing up around fly-ins and the general aviation community shaped who I am today. By 2018, I knew I wanted to fly, so I began exploring different paths into aviation and ultimately discovered the Sport Pilot Certificate—an option that aligned perfectly with my situation and allowed me to start flying sooner.
I earned my Sport Pilot Certificate in 2022 at Cub Air Flight with Steve Krog, a Part 61 flight school in Hartford, Wisconsin, where I trained exclusively in tailwheel aircraft. Over the past three years, I’ve logged more than 600 hours as PIC and have used my film business to gain access to a wide range of aircraft. From gliders to MiG-15s, the A-26 Invader, P-40 Warhawk, Stearman, and the Extra 330, I’ve been able to build a diverse flying background that continually pushes my skills and deepens my passion for aviation. In 2025, I added a seaplane rating and later earned my flight instructor certificate.
As much as I’d love for flying to be my full-time career, I currently run a small production company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While the work spans documentary, real estate, and corporate projects, aviation remains at the heart of what I do. The flexibility of the business gives me the freedom to fly often and stay deeply connected with the aviation world.
For the past few years, I’ve intentionally kept my Sport Pilot status mostly quiet, blending seamlessly into the community with my Aeronca Chief—an aircraft that fits perfectly into the light-sport category. Early on, I encountered pilots who underestimated the Sport Pilot Certificate, despite its practical benefits, accessibility, and the fact that a certified Sport Pilot instructor can earn money teaching without a commercial or instrument rating. It’s an overlooked entry point into aviation that more people should know about.
My mission is to inspire future aviators to think strategically about how they enter aviation and to show that flying can be both accessible and adventurous. Through my travels in my 1946 Aeronca Chief, I highlight that with a Sport Pilot Certificate, you can experience nearly everything a Private Pilot can. Above all, I aim to promote aviation in a positive light and build connections across the community through engaging, story-driven video and photo content.
